Lightroom 4 Tutorial – Fake HDR

October 3, 2012 |  by  |  Personal, Tips  |  ,

I had an awesome time doing an impromptu photoshoot with my brother, but I didn’t have enough natural light to get great photos “in camera”. I run into this situation a lot. So I figured I’d make a tutorial to show you what I do when this comes up. In this tutorial I show you how to brighten up the shadow area of your RAW photo without overexposing the whites and highlights. It gives you a kind of faux HDR look. It’s really useful when you’re in a situation with dark light and you don’t have a flash with you.
